Side Tables Collection

Vertebra

stacked disc side table

Marble discs stacked and offset to form a spiraling column — a sculptural totem that doubles as a side table. Vertebra treats stone as if it were a living spine, each segment slightly rotated to create a gentle ascending twist.

Spiral Logic

Stacked,
Not Static

Five or six Calacatta Viola discs — each one slightly offset from the last — rise from the floor like a geological column caught mid-twist. The rotation is subtle, just enough to create shadow lines that change as you move around the piece. No two viewing angles are the same.

Precision & Play

Each Disc,
a Decision

Every disc is cut from the same block to ensure continuity of veining, then hand-polished and stacked on a concealed steel spine. The degree of offset is set during consultation — from a gentle 5-degree rotation to a more dramatic 15-degree twist per segment.

Stone & Surface

The stacked form amplifies veining — each disc edge becomes a new chapter in the stone's story. In Rosso Levanto, Vertebra reads as a red tower; in Calacatta Viola, it becomes almost luminous when backlit.

Vertebra is geometry in motion — a column that turns, a stone that spirals, a table that sculpture forgot it was.

The standard configuration is five or six discs, but we can accommodate anywhere from four to eight. More discs create a taller, more dramatic tower, while fewer produce a compact, more grounded form.

Not at all. During your consultation, we set the rotation angle between 5 and 15 degrees per disc. A smaller angle creates a subtle, elegant twist; a larger one produces a more sculptural, dynamic presence.

Absolutely. A precision-engineered steel spine runs through the centre of all discs, anchored to a weighted base plate. The structure is rock-solid despite its playful appearance.

Yes. All discs are cut sequentially from the same block, so the veining flows continuously from one segment to the next. The rotation creates a mesmerising spiral pattern in the stone's natural markings.
